The Official Ceremony
Every year Chabad of Cyprus organizes a special Chanukah reception for the local Cypriot dignitaries, diplomats and other respectable guests.The crowd was invited to take part at the communal Menorah lighting by the Chief Rabbi - Rabbi Arie Zeev Raskin.
A replica of the Jerusalem Holy Temple's golden Menorah was manufactured specially for this event.
Speeches were delivered by the Chief Rabbi, by the Ambassador of Israel - Mr. Avraham Haddad, and by Mr. Christofides during the ceremony leaded by the MC Mr. Warren Bright.
