Friends of Chabad of Cyprus in Israel toke the opportunity before Shavuot to organize a friends gathering, and wish each other a happy Shavuot.
The participants met in Kiryat Malachi and enjoyed a BBQ dinner, multimedia presentations about the last year of activities in Cyprus and live music.
Rabbi Arie Zeev Raskin finalized the evening delivering a Torah speech about Shavuot and thanking all the participant friends who are supporting and caring about Chabad and the Jewish community in Cyprus. |

It seems to be that fun is something that has no limits. When you are sure you have reached the maximum of fun you find out that you still have a lot to discover about this amazing feeling.
If you want a proof you can ask both kids and adults who participated on 2010 Lag Baomer party in Cyprus.
This year Lag Baomer was celebrated at the "Dreamland", a 10.000 sq. meters place of fun for all ages.
Live music, BBQ, fireworks, bouncy castles & slides, dancing preceeded the traditional Lag Baomer parade and bonfire in loving memory and honor of the Holy Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai.

Matzah Bakery Model comes every year a few weeks before Passover to give our kids an idea of what is a real Matzah Bakery.
They are also tought about Seder Night and the story of the Exodus.
This is definitely one of the most important steps of our mission of big responsability of building the Jewish heritage of the next generation by giving proper Jewish education to our children. |

Who doesn't like Purim? It is quite difficult to find someone who really doesn't like this exotic Jewish holiday. Who doesn't like to see the entire family having fun, each one worried to enjoy the maximum of this once-in-a-year opportunity? The kids having fun and playing with their costumes; learning about the Megillah, making artcrafts and eating sweets with smily faces. At the same time the parents sitting and drinking Lechaim together, eating a festive meal and watching their kids building slowly slowly a strong Jewish basis to their lifes, and the most important: in a enjoyable way. And obviously, both, kids and parents worried about who is going to win the Annual Costume Contest. |

Year after year, the annual event of Friends of Chabad of Cyprus in Israel seems to get better and better. The magic and indescribable feeling of meeting so many old and new friends at once at the same evening is a reserved privilege for friends of Chabad of Cyprus. During the event Rabbi Raskin announced the newest project “Tree of Life” which aims to gather all the friends and supporters at one big act of charity and have their names engraved on a leaf from the “Tree of Life” which will be placed at Chabad Centre in Larnaca.

Every year Chabad of Cyprus organizes a special Chanukah reception for the local Cypriot dignitaries, diplomats and other respectable guests.
The crowd was invited to take part at the communal Menorah lighting by the Chief Rabbi - Rabbi Arie Zeev Raskin.
A replica of the Jerusalem Holy Temple's golden Menorah was manufactured specially for this event.
Speeches were delivered by the Chief Rabbi, by the Ambassador of Israel - Mr. Avraham Haddad, and by Mr. Christofides during the ceremony leaded by the MC Mr. Warren Bright. |

Once again the Festival of Lights was celebrated with splendour in this tiny, but illuminated island.
The Car-Menorahs conquered the streets with their light while a real marathon of events went on at the Centre, ensuring that none of the 8 days of the festival stays empty or boring.
Sharing light and warmth is definitely one of the biggest thing we can do for a better world. |

Lately we have been doing big efforts to improve the Center and make it more comfortable to serve our community.
The latest new is the new roof, which was changed in order to keep us dry and warm in the Synagogue during the winter.

With no doubt one of the happiest Holidays in the Jewish Calendar, Sukkot always gives a special sensation to all of us, specially when talking about Sukkot in Cyprus.
Throughout the 7 days of Sukkot hundreds of guests pass by Chabad's huge Sukkah in Larnaca.
The highest point of the "Simcha" happens on Simchat Beit Hashoeva Celebration at the Centre.
Live music, dancing, Kids Programmes including a juggler, trampolines, BBQ and much L'chaim & brotherhood.

The holiest day around the year is always celebrated by the entire community at the Synagogue with a tremendous unity, all as one.
This year hundreds of community members and tourist attended for the Highest Holiday.
